My dad called me tonight to tell me his dog, Hans, was put down today. He was about 17.
We got Hans when he was about 6 months old from a vet, he hadn't been very well looked after by his previous owner and wasn't very good with people but he absolutely adored my parents. When my parents divorced my dad got Hans and my mum got our other Schnauzer Heidi.
Hans went everywhere with my dad, they were inseperable. Over the last year or so Hans' health started to fail and he got old and tired, and today he 'just ran out of steam' as my dad put it. He was crying on the phone, it was pretty awful. Poor old Hans
This is Hans and Heidi back in the day (Hans is on the right).
Awww, so sorry. Sounds like he had a good long life. RIP Hans
