Default Pebbles

Pebbles, although not our cat, has spent the last year visiting us every day for cuddles, treats and occasional sleepovers. His owner, who lives a few doors down the road, was more than happy to 'share' her lovely kitty with us - he was very trustworthy and she felt reassured knowing that he was visiting a home of cat-lovers who would keep an eye on him for her.

However today, whilst walking the dog, my mother found the poor boy on the side of the road - we can only assume he'd been struck down by a car. Both we and his owner are devastated; he was a strange, but endearing lad.

Sleep well Pebbles, nothing like that can harm you over the Bridge.
xx

I'm sorry to hear about your Gizmo It's such a crying shame that drivers don't stop for a cat the same way they would for a dog.
I know a dog from the kennels at work that was lost the same way recently too. Such a shame.

This is true, I guess it's in some ways fortunate that we stumbled upon the cat before the body may have been moved, so both we and the owner know what has happened.

yeh, its good to know that they are free from harm, even if its the final step. I couldnt imagine Gizmo lost and having to fend for herself, she couldnt even catch mice properly unless she found a nice supply of peas, broccoli and gravy XD such a shame that they both had to leave so soon.

Awww, that is so sad. He looked like such a character too, bless him. My daughter, who is 14, witnessed a cat get run over at the weekend. It really shook her up as she is a cat lover. I don't think she'll forget that for a while.

Chameleons are perfect - they don't make any mess, smell or noise, don't leave fur on the carpet and don't need walking!

It's a horrible thing to witness, and at such a young age! I hope she's not too shaken up!
What is going on with drivers at the moment??
It could so easily have been our own cat as he too roams a bit, I suspect my dad's going to try and keep him in for a little while.

Thats terrible poor thing hope she is alright, not something a child should witness.

I think there needs to be something done about this, theres so many being knocked over these days, in the last 6 months alone iv rushed 2 living to the vets that later died, found one already too late plus my own little Gizmo...now Pebbles and countless others no doubt. Its heartbreaking to lose a cat.
