Rescues have to set limits on neutering so that its easier for them to chase up on wether it has been done or not, plus its a safe age. 12 months is fine for a large breed dog. And I've had plenty of them neutered to know.
Neutering too early affects the growth of the dog. With large bones dogs, ie rotts DDBs BM etc it is advisable to wait until they are close to being full grown. With their bone structure it takes longer for them to reach full size. Then as someone else has said they still broaden out. With the rotties, unless for medical grounds, we "try" to leave neutering to between 12 and 18 months. Obviously each dogs circumstances have to be taken into account ie health of dog, if it is likely to become pregnant before ideal neutering age.

Nice to see a neutering policy in place, I like the £50 deposit.

Stunning pups btw love the cheeky wee faces

Gorgeous puppys 10 of my dogs were neutered at 6 months old but my Rottie boy will be 12 months as I wanted his head to mature a bit first. (not sure if it will expand his brain though)Ive never had a problem with neutering at 6 months and a lot of RSPCA shelters neuter really early now. Shouldnt have a problem rehoming these beauties Southport is in Merseyside, my home town

my Ursa still hasn't been done because I have found a big difference not only in growth pattern but mental maturity. I had the lurcher done bang on 6 months and wish I hadn't now as he has no confidence at all which I put down to not being allowed to become a fully operational male.
I understand where you are coming from about brain expansion too. I think that the older Ursa gets, the thicker his skull gets which forces his brain to contract

Their mother was a stunning brindled bullmastiff who has just recently gone to her new home, she came into the rescue pregnant with this litter. Her owner didnt want her or the added expence of a litter. She had a wonderful temprament and was in good health. She gave birth to 9 puppies, 5 of which are still needing homes.

They have all had their first vaccinations and the second vaccinations are already paid for (Vets4Pets). They have been wormed and flead regulary since birth.

They have been raised with other dogs and children. They are paper trained.

We cannot garuntee the size these puppies will be when fully grown due to having no idea who the father to the pups is.

Potential homes will be vetted for suitability. An adoption fee is required, plus an extra charge of 50 pound which will be refunded on confirmation of spaying or neutering. A contract must be signed mainly stating that the dog must be neutered or spayed within 12 months, if this is not done then the rescue has the right to re-take ownership of the dog.

The puppies are currently in foster care in the South Derbyshire area.

NB: Please note these puppies will not go to new homes over the christmas period. Available for homes from the 5th January.
