It doesnt matter where he is posted really does it lol, every one who offers him a home has to go through the same process.. Homechecks & adoption papers, we wont let him go to just anybody.

He has been in the same home for the last 12 years so to be passed about at such an old age will cause too much unnecessary stress for him so we will be thorough with our checks to ensure that where ever he goes he will stay there for the rest of his life. He is very obedient & hasnt had one accident since he has been here, the only issue I have is that he doesnt like our rotty other than that Baron is perfect

NO Posting unless you are interested or can offer help.

like I said he is here for rehoming, not a death sentence.
and I imagine explaining that neutering him would make it easier to home him was offering help. Explaining that 12 was not too old to neuter, was also offering help, especially as the OP mentioned that this unneutered dog was 'not getting on' with her own dog.
Was that not offering help?

I imagine not getting on with a huge rottweiler will also be causing unnecessary stress if if neutering him would help him find a home quickly, it might be worth finding a competent vet up there who is capable of doing what is, a pretty simply operation. If none of the vets up there are capable, I am fully prepared to pay for the op' to be done by my own very able vet, if it would help him find a good home quicker and where he doesn't need to feel threatened by your rottweiler.

how is causing unnecessary stress for him with the rotty when its the rotty thats getting attacked of the lurcher?

The rottweiler in question is not one bit aggressive!!!

One vet in Nottingham, One in Manchester & One in Oldham have all told us the same thing.. end of story, Why do people stick their noses in all the time?

Its been said he is here to find a home, you dont want to offer him a home so why post?????????

Because I am trying to help him get a home and a dog which attacks other dogs, possibly due to testosterone will end up being passed from pillar to post. Even if he goes to a home with no other dogs or cats, he will come across them on walks etc.
Of course he is under stress if fear or aggression is causing him to attack your rottie?
Trying to get the fuller picture here that's all. And my offer to pay for him to be neutered by my vet still stands.

its not testosterone thats causing him to be like this as he is perfectly fine with my other two dogs, my mothers dogs (1 is entire) & my friends dogs who we walk with, its more that he has just taken a disliking to our rottweiler... we dont know his full back ground, it could be that he was once attacked off a rotty & has remebered so is protecting himself, one of my Lurchers (cassie) will defend herself against staffy type breeds, she is now 6 years old, just before her first birthday she was savaged by a staffordshire bull terrier it tore her cheek off & took a chunk out of her ear.. to this day she remembers what that dog did to her & will have a go at any dog that resembles a staffy whether theyre friendly or not

Im greatful for your offer to have him castrated, money isnt an issue here just we would rather go off a vets advise & with all three vets that we use saying the same thing, id rather leave him entire. You may say 12 isnt old but that all depends on the dog in question.. He is old & showing it, he sleeps all day & night, wont even climb stairs..???

Many thanks for your polite response
Hopefully the explanation will also have reassured anyone thinking about offering him a home. I think perhaps the mention of him being entire, plus attacking your tottie, might have given the wrong impression. I wasn't aware that you had other dogs and he was fine with them and if I came to the wrong conclusion, others might too.
I truly hope he gets a home soon as from my own personal experience, lurchers make just about the nicest and easiest pet dogs. I always have one about. This lad surely deserves a nice fireside to curl up beside and a friendly hand on his head occasionally. Come on folks, does nobody want him? Lurchers can live to 18 years old easily and are normally really healthy right to the end?

I am so glad it looks like he may have a home. He looks like my dog that died afew years back. It has really pulled my heart strings.
