For sale is a 3 year old white male cockatoo called charlie. He is dog tame and loves his cuddles and coming out to play. He speaks a few words such as "Hello Charlie" and "Charlie wanna s**t" he doesnt poop outside of the cage! He was originally rescued by my friend and is now in perfect health and is looking for his forever home. He has a brand new cage which is included in the price. He is for sale for £950 ono

He is for rehoming, he has been rescued, treated by the vet, got a new cage and now ready to be rehomed. The price is Or Near Offer. It is to cover the cost of veterinary treatment, food, the new cage. Its a rescue centre that does not recieve any funding except what people pay for the animal.

I was thinking the same & have posted on the other SALES thread.

You need to know what species of Too Charlie is, as he may well need a special certificate to be sold or rehomed & money is exchanging hands.

Also £950 is the same price as getting a baby Too depending on species, so its not really a rehome is it?

However I hope Charlie finds a nice new home & hope they are experienced in the ways of Too's

Charlie is actually a SHE!!! silly me i assumed that it was a he. She is a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, 4yrs old, comes with a 6ft tall, 3ft wide, 2.5ft deep cage. She is on a diet of fruit, nuts and parrot mix, no history of plucking, fine with children and other birds and other animals, loves to come out of her cage at any oppourtunity, not terribly loud or noisy and is a lovely bird who needs a home where she will be apprieciated, she was rescued by a friend of mine who i am doin this for as a favour. The price is very negotiable to the right home so please no time wasters PM if seriously interested. thanks

If she is a lesser, she cannot be sold without cites papers I'm afraid. What were the circumstances of the rescue, just out of interest?
£950 is the price I'd expect to pay for one of the larger cockatoos like my Umbrella 'too. It's too much for a sulphur. And I am a bit uncomfortable with the idea of someone getting a bird through rescue, then selling it on for top ££££.

Sorry for this bein so long winded. i am trying to help aout a freind who has taken this bird in. we know hardly anything about birds, we are reptile people. the price is very negotiable and mainly covers the cost of the cage and any thing else and also to stop the freebie hunters. please only post on this thread if u are interested in re homing this bird. thanks

even if someone isn't particularly interested, getting info can only help find a home for the bird which has gone from an unknown 'too, to a suplphur crested, to an umbrella. Some history of rescue would also help someone decide whether they can take the bird on. For instance, the fact that an umbrella cockatoo isn't noisy, is worrying since they are one of the loudest types of 'too. My Pandora makes my ears pop if she is happy/sad/it's sunny'/raining/wants food/water/doesn't like, or does like what I am wearing since these are all reasons for her to shriek. That's what they do.
So if your firends one is not noisy, it may be sick which is why I ask about the circumstances around the rescue. If it is going to need vet treatment for instance or has PBFD the prospective owner will need to know. I might be interested myself but won't need the cage as Pandora lives in a large aviary with other birds for companionship.I wouldn't take on a male one though because I don't want Pandora killed by cockatoo spousal aggression.Nor do I want to breed as I don't believe they make good house pets.
