Default dogs to re-home

Hi i was not sure if i should put this on, because i didn't really want people to give me an ear bashing.
Its about two lovely dogs i have one is a BIG jet black dog (cross breed not sure what thou got him from the kennels) he is called Murphy and the other is a collie (but we don't have papers as the girl who we got him from didn't give them to us) he is called Oscar. These two get along like two peas in the pod, they play with each other go everywhere together, and cry when each other are spilt.
The problem is my mam and step-dad have spilt up and it doesn't look like he will be comming back, now i've tried to help with the dogs but it's very hard to walk them as Murphy is such as powerful dog he pulls, it's that bad my arm hurts and i can hardly move it. My mam can't walk them on her own as she has my other brother and sisters to look after and the youngest is 5yrs and has down syndrome and is deaf so my mam has her hands full.
So really the problem is she can't cope to look after them any more and the credit crunch has hit us badly. I know its a long shot here, but Oscar can be taken (hopefully) to a place its abit like the dogs trust they won't let the dogs go without checking on the family. But Murphy can't go as they don't have a big enough kennel for him. My mam has one choice left and i don't like it and its a cat and dog shelter i don't think he will get re-homed he is too big. I don't want to put him in the papers as i'm worried incase they can't handle him and throw him on the streets (i know im thinking of the worst here) But i don't know i was hoping maybe someone here would take him? i would love it if they got both stay together as they'd be broken hearted being split up.
And please i don't want the "well you shouldn't have dogs if you can't afford to look after them", we could at the time when are family were all happy together and had money but now its just gone down hill.

Here is a picture of Murphy just so you can get a rough idea of how big he is as i can't find a tape measure, sorry the picture isn't that good he wouldn't stay still for me.
Murphy is 2yrs old and has neutered but sort of chases his tail thou, he doesn't really bother with other dogs when he is playing with a toy outside. he is fine with kids as my family is big the youngest is 5yrs old and has down syndrome so he is ok with her, then the next child is 9yrs old.
Oscar is 1 an half yrs old but isnt neutered as we were hoping to breed him but never got his papers from the girl who sold him to us and now we can't find her. Oscar is fine with kids very playful with them Lillie (the 5yr old) loves playing with him as he will bring the toy back to you and will just want you to keep playing (sadly Murphy doesn't really do that). as for other dogs same really doesn't really bother if he has a toy.
don't want any money for them you just have to be able to come and collect them from Hebburn in the North East. Would love it if both could stay together but i guess i'll just have to see. Oh and Oscar gets car sickness but he has a cage thou. and Oscar chews his blankets so we go through them quite abit.
erm i can't think of anything else but if interested please PM.
Hope some one can help as we really don't want to place them ina cat and dog shelter.

thanks

Put them on the Private Rehome section of <Dogpages UK dog rescue forums>, or PM some of the rescues on there and ask for their help. They may be able to help and put them in a foster home together rather than seperate them
