Right. Just a reminder that we are no longer offering animals for rehome until Next Year. We are, however, still open 24/7 for animals requiring rescue or rehome for whatever reason. Please do not be offended if we refuse to offer you an animal at this time of year.

Secondly, there is a particularly stupid member on here firing the wildest of accusations on our status as a charitable body.
I need to nip this in the bud, right now.
We work extremely hard, roughly 14 to 16 hours per day, either caring for animals or performing charity galas and educational / community visits. Our reputation is excellent and untarnished, and I intend to keep it that way.

I refer anyone who is interested in charity numbers to the very first post on this thread, to explain why we have no charity number. This can be confirmed with the Charity Commission.

If you need any further evidence of our status, I am happy to provide the e-mail address of the commissioner who received our application for charity status, who will confirm that we applied and were put on hold until the required income was evidenced.
I will give you contact details for any of the following organisations who have checked, and are happy with our charity credentials;
RSPCA
Pets @ Home
Mars
Leeds Building Society
Leeds City Council
Drighlington Town Council
CASCO Vivs
Abbey House Vets
The International Zoo Vet Group

I will also provide to anyone who feels the need, a copy of our trust deed, that sets out our status and responsibilities (please don't all ask - it will cost me a fortune in photocopying and postage) and even give you the names of the many people on here who have visited us, received animals from us and helped us. There are numerous more who will confirm we have NEVER, EVER asked for a set rehome fee for any of the 50+ animals we have rehomed. We have asked for a donation, at their discretion.

Its up to you lot whether taking animals in and then giving them away is a good business model - I suggest not.

Sorry to ramble, but I am very upset at the moment.

Alan

i have re-homed a reptile from here , and cannot fault them in anyway !
i paid a donation for my rep at my own discrestion, what i beleived to be a reasonable donation for the type of rep. Alan was fantastic and friendly, he even gave me some imformation about the reps background. Overall , it has to be one of the most pleasent adoption/re-homing charitys ive seen, i take my hat off to them !

Thanks for your support, it is very humbling when people take the time to say nice things.

The rant was not fishing for any compliments, but we are always grateful for either compliment or complaint - it helps us improve.
