Well we had a final count up, and within an ace, we raised a thousand uid.
And loads of animal equipment was donated. And loads of people have left a note, demanding to volounteer their services. And several clubs have asked us to make an appearance and give a lecture. And one animal was succesfully rehomed. And one was succesfully released to the wild. And everyone demanded a repeat day in the near future, to bring friends and relatives. So.............. We will be doing it all again. But this time it will be better organised, bigger, and in a different place, and I will give the date, time and location as soon as the trustee committee have decided it. Still got a fab rosella parakeet and a sweet little guinea pig available to very good homes. Okay, so they're not exotic, but WTH, how can you turn them away? Alan |

Bit of a cheek, and one in a thousand chance, but...............
Following the success of our last event, we are doing a bigger and better one and one of the things we are going to do is an auction (not of animals or equipment). We hope it will mainly be experiences and celebrity memorabilia, so if anyone out there is, knows or has contact with a celebrity, sportsman etc. and we could get hold of something we would be very grateful. You know the kind of stuff, autographed scripts or cd's or kit or any old junk. We would also need something to authenticate it, such as a letter from them or their agents. You never know our luck...................... Alan |

Now checked over and available for rehome...............
Male red rossella parakeet. No etiquette to the hand, but if loose does take food from the hand and sits on your head. These birds are very poor talkers and often very poor in a community, but this one picks up tunes and noises very quickly and mimics well. Young boar guinea pig. Short fur, tri colour. Very, very laid back with humans, but very aggressive with other pigs. Split ear now healed after he took on a giant rabbit.............don't laugh, this little fellah will take on anything. Both to very good homes only, and the charity reserves the right to check on conditions in the future. Small donation for rehome required. We have guidelines, but the actual donation is at your discretion. Alan |

Hi Alan
Just seen this and if I can ever help with the rats/small rodents please let me know. I do a bit of fostering and homing and have fostered for rescues such as STAR, the PDSA, and Manchester Rodent Rescue. Just thought if you knew I was about it might help you free room (or keep room free) for the more specialised animals. Take care Kathy |

Thanks for that, Kathy.
Rest assured, we have no idea with degus, hamsters and the like, and if any turn up, we will be getting them out as fast as poss................. The same goes the other way, too. We can care for the specialised stuff and always, somehow, find room for them. Alan |

i think its a brilliant thing you got going on and your right, there is never enough places for reptiles an things to go to, to be helped or taken in they just get dumped instead, which is really not right.
have you a website where i can see a bit more about you, maybe spread the word, not that you want more but at least for people to know that there is somewhere if cicumstances turn bad.??? thanks faye |
