Default Ratties

Hi,

I am planning on breeding my ratties (Dumbo) and was wondering if anyone would be interested in giving then a home.

Just want to know if anyone was interested before i did it as i want them to go to a good home.

If you could let me know.

Thanks.

I think you should learn to care for them properly before breeding them. Leaving them with painful injuries to suffer is not conducive to responsible breeding. This also doesn't belong in a rehoming forum, if you're deliberately breeding rats it belongs in classifieds.

Oh I am sorry, I am going on what you posted about your rats getting badly injured and trapped under rocks and being left with their eye hanging out for hours on end. Please forgive me, I didn't realise this was acceptable rat care.

There is no excuse for that rat not having seen a vet yesterday - you said yourself your boyfriend left her for hours and didn't even know how long she'd been trapped and injured under a rock. I won't ask how a rat gets trapped under a rock while you're at work.

I am genuinely sorry for her loss, but these are things you need to think about before even considering breeding - if you can't get to a vet in an emergency you shouldn't be doing it, and I think if you're honest with yourself you know that's true.

She got trapped under a rock as i bought them a new cage and we have some boys so we sperated them. When we bought it we thought it wud have a divider in between but it didnt. We put a plant pot inbetween but they were chewing through it. so we put a rock over it as a temp thing until we could find something to put inbetween.

I think one of them must have been trying to get to the males and i duno somehow she got trapped.

And don't forget, your boyfriend sat and left her for 5 and a half hours with no treatment after finding her. Like I said, you want to think about what you're going to do in emergencies from now on - I hope the remaining girls have been moved to safer accommodation.
