Default Alaskan Malaute puppy

Hello my name is Dalziel and I am looking for a home. At the moment I live with Cabrera and the other animals at the Sanctuary

My history is alittle sketchy my first owners were bored with me and passed me on to my next home when I was about five months old. My next family found a house that they loved but did not have room from for me and that is how I ended up with Cabrera at the Sanctaury.

Dalziel is approximately 11 months old and intact and is looking for a forever home this boy cannot take another let down. Due to no socialisation and no training and very poor home enviroments Dalziel has an issue. When Dalziel came to us he had food aggression however please note he has NEVER BITTEN neither man nor animal. What he did do was growl, posture and bare his teeth.

In the last two months Dalziel has been worked with he will now let anyone he knows touch his food, toys etc with no problem however anyone considering adopting Dalziel would have to accept that they would have to continue the work for a few months to ensure the unwanted behaviour is gone for good.

Cabrera is prepared to continue the behaviour work free of charge.

Dalziels temperament is typical Alaskan Malamute As this is a dominant breed, especially with the same sex, it is essential the dog be thoroughly socialized before allowing free play in the park with other dogs. A Malamute needs a confident handler who will clearly take on the role of pack leader and train the dog with kind, but firm methods. Although the Malamute will never respond to commands at lightening speed, it can learn obedience and agility commands and will perform them competently.

Dalziel will train for those he respects as the boss. Dalziel will have to be trained from scratch.

Cabrera is prepared to train Dalziel and his new family free of charge.

On a good note Dalziel is a really good boy indoors house trained, no chewing, no barking the occasional howl .
He is a beautiful good natured boy who deserves a great home. He needs a home that will commit to continuing his socialisation, behaviour re-hab and training none is which is hard work but requires a family that will be more stubborn than Dalziel.

Thank you for reading.
