Yes they are legally insects, therefor subject to the same conditions as crickets etc...

They are inverts which cover crickets insects and livefoods. In the terms spiders arent classified but at the same time it is not illegal either. The deal with posting spiders its kind of a limbo state. There's no right or wrong. They can be posted but nowhere says yes or no. As spiders are arachnids and not from the insecta family but I dont think the post would be too pedantic. If your husband works with royal mail tell him to tell his buddies when it says "keep this way up" "handle with extreme care, fragile biological speciment contained" it means that and should be handled with care
