Hey All,

Just to gauge interest....

I have been approached by a few people now requesting runs to mainland Europe.

I'm currently looking at a pricing structure, along the same system as my UK Same-day services. IE the same charge per job for each person.

I'm looking for peoples past experiences of purchases from the above destinations. What prices have you previously been quoted? Any problems you have encountered? Anything extra you would look for in a European Service.

Basically any idea's or suggestions at all would be welcome!

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

PS One forum member is looking for some pick-ups from Belgium and Mid-France so if anyone has anything along those lines that they would need doing please feel free to get in touch to share costs.

Are you thinking of doing a service that covers things like the Hamm shows? - there are many, many ppl who would love to order things to be picked up, but for one reason or another they either can`t get over, or don`t have a contact to do it for them. I think that a service like that would be extremely popular/fruitful.

Hey All,

I haven't forgotten about this and been doing some digging!

At the moment I have spoke to customs to confirm that they would have no interest in the import of live reptiles from the EU.

Animal Health are happy for me to do it as long as the animals are cared for as they always are!

I still need to confirm with Ferry companies.

At the moment I am thinking that I would need a day to comfortably get to Hamm. I'll spend the Saturday day (12th) to make all collections etc. I'll make my way back to the UK over night and on the Sunday all animals will be delivered direct to their new owners doors.

Depending on the logistics of the deliveries it may take two days (Sunday & Monday)

I still need to confirm how it will work at collection.

It will be me and a friend of mine who is extremely competent with reptiles travelling. Someone will be with the van AT ALL TIMES. I'm thinking at the moment that I will get an E-Mail confirmation for each booking detailing the location of the seller at the show and his name address etc.

Once I have found him/her I will show this confirmation and a copy of my license to confirm it is me (this will be confirmed to the person booking in advance). I will want to supply my own containers for transport. NO POLY BOXES or HEAT PACKS! I don't mind using these in the UK but for this trip there will be a full electrical system installed with heating at 20oC constantly throughout the trip. Ventilation will be installed incase it gets hot to!

All Animals will be in the same type of box (a plastic storage container that is secure and well ventilated) this will prevent variances in temperatures for animals in different types of boxes.

This run will be the first and in that instance a trial for future runs.

At the moment I ESTIMATE the charge will be £80.00 per job (this may change to per box used).

Steve

ANY SUGGESTIONS COMMENTS QUESTIONS OR INTEREST PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
