PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY REQUESTS FOR QUOTES HERE! I hope the following will explain everything you will need to know about SWAnimalCouriers and the services offered at the time of writing. PLEASE USE THIS THREAD FOR ANY QUESTIONS ON THE SERVICES OFFERED AND PLEASE USE THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM FOR FEEDBACK. SERVICES OFFERED :
Same-Day Direct & Same-Day £44.00 Service : Once details of the trip have been finalised, contact me with the NAMES, FULL ADDRESSES (with postcode), MOBILE PHONE NUMBER, DETAILS OF THE ANIMAL TO BE TRANSPORTED AND A ROUGH IDEA OF DATES YOU WILL NEED THIS TO BE DONE. I will then reply to you with available dates for the £44.00 service or you will notified if I can only do this on a direct service. IF YOU REQUIRE A DIRECT SERVICE PLEASE SPECIFY THIS IN YOUR ORIGINAL MESSAGE. Once you have reponded with your specified date I will book your job in. Please note that NO JOB IS CONFIRMED UNTIL I HAVE CONFIRMED IT IS BOOKED! Obviously, the quicker you can respond to my reply the better chance of the dates being available. If you are booked in for the £44.00 service I will contact you the Friday Evening before the run to confirm the details and advise an estimated time for arrival. If you are booked in for a direct service I will call you the evening before the job to confirm the details and advise an estimated time of arrival. Please note that jobs are booked in starting from 6 AM and finishing at MIDNIGHT. If you or the other party cannot accept a collection or delivery as early as 6 AM or as late as MIDNIGHT this will need to be specified in your original message. On the day, if you are sending, I will contact you an hour before collection, once delivered safely at the final destination and if there are any hold-ups on the way to you. If you are receiving, I will contact you once collected, an hour before arrival and if there are any hold-ups on route to you. I allow 15 minutes for each collection and delivery. If you think you will need me to wait for longer please let me know at booking. If the animal has not been collected/delivered after 15 minutes I may have to continue on my route and your job maybe re-arranged for a later date. This is to prevent disappointment to other customers. If this is at the delivery point, the animal will stay in my care until an alernative delivery date is arranged. This may required another booking on a following weekend via the £44.00 service + costs of looking after the animal or a direct service (prices above) + costs of looking after the animal. CASH on collection or delivery is preferred for this service. PET MOVING SERVICE : Please contact me as far in advance as possible with your NAME, CURRENT FULL ADDRESS, NEW FULL ADDRESS, CONTACT MOBILE NUMBER, YOUR MOVING DATE, DETAILS OF THE ANIMAL AND DETAILS OF ITS HOUSING. I will then reply if I am available or not and a quote for the day. Once you have then replied with confirmation that this is ok I will book in. PLEASE NOTE NOTHING WILL BE BOOKED IN UNTIL YOU HAVE ARGREED TO THE QUOTE. I will require payment in advance for this service. I can accept PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cheque as long as the funds have cleared 2 weeks before the move. HEATING : Heating is not supplied as standard. I belive that exotics can be a lot more relaxed in transit if they are kept cooler during the move. Temperatures in the van rarely go below 20oC during any day and I find this adequate for most journeys. I can, however, provide heating for the trip. I have a wooden "table" that is heated using heat wire on the base. This is used in connection with a "Mat Stat" and an Eviroment Monitor. This ensures I have a contant temperature and I have a constant view of the temperature in the front of the van. This is plugged into a power inverter that supplies electricity directly from the van's battery. The inverter has built in surge protection (this shuts off the system in case of electrical failer, preventing any over heating by faulty equipment) and low battery alarm to prevent a drained battery. ANIMAL CARE IN TRANSPORT: All animals are checked at maximum 1.5hr intivals. In most cases this will involve opening the container holding the animal and visually checking/pysically checking (removing the animal from all containers) the animal is healthy and happy. ANIMAL CONTAINERS FOR TRANSPORT : Recommendations of containers/carriers for exotic animals will vary between each species. It is the senders responcibility to ensure the animal is appropriatly housed for the journey. It some cases items such as polyboxes/pillowcases (or similar)/cardboard boxes etc can be supplied for the journey. PLEASE ADVISE AT BOOKING IF REQUIRED. If, upon arrival at the collection address, the animal is not found to be in a suitable carrier/container I will have to refuse to take the animal and will have to leave with the sender. INSURANCES/LICENCES : I have courier insurance on the van which covers whilst transporting any item as part of my buisness. A certificate can be viewed at collection/delivery by prior arrangement. This is a legal nessesity as anyone transporting any item as part of a buisness will require a higher level of cover than the standard car insurance policy. If someone where to be found to using their vehicle as part of a buisness with out the higher level of cover their insurance maybe invalid and they could be prosecuted for driving without insurance. I am licenced with ANIMAL WELFARE (DEFRA) to transport animals on journeys upto and over 8 hours within Europe. This is also a legal requirement. Anyone transporting an animal as part of a buiness where the owner is not present would require a licence and be able to show it at any point during the journey. This licence can be viewed at collection or delivery without prior arrangement. I have insurance as a "Animal Taxi". This insurance covers your animals during the trip for injury or death for any incident involved with transporting the animal. There are specific exclusions for illnesses/injurys that the animal may have been suffering before the trip. I am insured to carry any amount of animals up to the total value of £15,000.00 at any one time. This is not a legal requirement. This certificate can be viewed at collection or delivery by prior arrangement. You will not be let down or disappointed. 15th & 16th : Limited spaces still available! This run will be closed @ 5pm Friday 14th. 22nd & 23rd : Saturday (northwards journeys) full, Sunday (southwards) limited space, not covering Scotland. 29th & 30th : recently added, will be covering Scotland, only a couple of bookings so far. 5th & 6th September : recently added, couple of bookings taken so far but plenty of space. Hey All!
Just to remind everyone that I need a COMPLETE list of the animals to be collected prior to the day of collection. If you have booked a job well in advance I have absolutely no problem with this being changed upto the day before the collection date. If I arrive at the collection address and I am asked to collect animals that I am not already aware of I will first try and contact the person that is expecting delivery to confirm this. IF YOU ARE UNOBTAINABLE I WILL LEAVE THAT ANIMAL BEHIND AND ANOTHER JOB WILL BE BOOKED FOR A FUTURE DATE IF YOU WISH. IF IT THE EXTRA ANIMAL/S ARE GOING TO TAKE UP A LOT OF EXTRA ROOM ON THE VAN THEN AN EXTRA CHARGE MAYBE NESSESARY TO COVER THE EXTRA WORK INVOLVED (IE CHECKING EXTRA ANIMALS ON ROUTE, FEEDING/WATER AND EXTRA TRANSPORT SHEETS WILL BE REQUIRED. Current availability: 22nd & 23rd August : Completely Full 29th & 30th August : Still have a little space for this one but I would expect this to be full by the weekend. Still plenty of space for following runs. Runs every weekend covering most parts of Eng & Wal and runs to Scotland everyother weekend. Thanks! Steve |
