Default My thanks to ERAC – superb show

Dear All,

I would like to thank ERCA for staging a fantastic show; I hope that all of you that attended enjoyed your day. Unless you have been involved in staging a show its hard to appreciate just how much work involved, I think the ERAC teem deserve a round of applauses…..

I would also like to thank all of you who attended and made the day so successful, there were a few clichés, car parking became a bit of an issue at one point! But we can thank dear old Elaine for that, without her assistance not as many people would have attended! Notwithstanding parking issues I hope that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.

For more than ten years members of the animal rights industry have been declaring these events are illegal, or compromise the welfare of animals but curiously not a single prosecution has ever been brought. It would, therefore, appear that the extremists are suggesting that all Local Authorities and welfare organisations are incompetent or ignorant, or could it simply be that the extremists are wrong!

Groups like the Essex Reptile and Amphibian Club are dedicated conservationists & educators and are committed to the highest standards of animal welfare so be targeted by the AR extremists is extremely offensive to them. By contrast, E. Toland has never denied her aversion to animals and has refused all offers of dialogue and/or therapy to overcome this unfortunate state. It would also appear curious for such a staunch anti-animal person to call her group the Animal Protection Agency as, unlike ERAC, she does not appear to have ever protected a single animal.

I spite of repeated attempts to encourage Ms Toland to attend the weekend’s event (and numerous others), and with assurances in place that her comfort zone regarding animals would be respected, she still felt unable to attend in person, preferring to delegate to lesser minions in her organisation – why?

This event has been a turning point, the Animal Protection Agency and International Animal Rescue have overstepped the mark, no longer can we stand by and allow these ‘extremist’ to make unsubstantiated, and salacious allegations with impunity. Today the fight back begins, today we seek justice.

Yeah, we need to respond to their notice. How we will carry out investations into behaviour, we have support from animal experts and welfare groups. Each and every reptile club is a animal welfare group.
