TippyToes

this is completely staged and fake..imo it shouldn't of been aloud in the comp..no doubting its an excellent image tho ..but hes not feeding..i hear alot of people on here moan when a photoshopped image gets in the comp but yet yours is sort of the same thing.(staged and fake) when i say fake i mean its not eating any thing. and i rekon your probably going to win...lol im just surprised that your getting every ones vote when hes not even feeding..

im not trying to bitch.just trying to point out how people see stuff..imo photoshopped and your image is the same thing..i guess others dont see it that way..

By the way,how long did it take for u to set it up?did the gecko play ball or what? did he behave or did it keep on trying to run off?

i also rekon if u put this image on a stock web site u could make money from, it..its a very good idea..great image.well done

Default A message to Macro-Junkie and other upset members

Not to put a downer on your little rant, whether it was constructive critisism or meant in a negative way it doesnt really matter.

The key point you highlight is that the gecko is not eating, that sounds right doesnt it?The topic is feeding and the gecko is not eating.....However look at how the compotition theme was worded, the picture had to be "feeding Themed". Look back at the first page and I am sure you will agree this is what was said.

Now as I am sure alot of people will agree, the term "Feeding Themed" means it should be oriented around feeding. This doesnt necessarily mean Eating, and for this reason Tippytoes picture fits within the constraints. Further more the topic start also said "lets see pictures of your hungry pets at feeding time". Again here it does not specify EATING.

In addition to this, if tippytoes image did not meet the requirements, which were set by the moderator, then why would the moderator themself put her into the final? That would just be ridiculous would it not?

Because of everything stated above, quotes included, I am putting an end to all of the controversy about this picture, which is quite frankly ridiculous. Tippytoes thought outside the box and brought fresh ideas to the competition, its great to see something different!.

Its up to everyones votes including the moderator. If thats what they want to win its up to them. So please for everyones sake stop complaining that it doesnt fit the theme, when clearly it does.

I truley belive Macro-junkie did not do it to upset Tippytoes and I think it was posted in a constructive manner. But the point stands for anyoen who wants to complain about this.

The competition this month is tough, and good luck to all the finalists.

Please note my post was not made to upset any parties involved, its just sadenning to see such uproar caused by a fun activity.

To be fair to tippytoes, yes its staged, but its so silly in its construction its obviously not pretending to be anything but staged.

I think you can distinguish it from photoshoped images that people complain about because they are an attempt to make the image something its not. You could decribe it as false or a lie, a back handed way to win the competition. The image by tippytoes is entirely honest and doesnt pretend to be something it isnt. Its intended as a joke, any idiot can see that.

For that reason i dont see why tippytoes should be penalised in anyway. Plus, as said above, the comp was "feeding themed", it didnt specify the need to show actual feeding.

Anyhow, all that being said i voted for philipniceguy

I also agree that Tippy Toes deserves to win, outside thinking and great imagination. Well done you

I think everyone should chill out. It's only fun. I was just happy to get in the final!! And I used a digital SLR Nikon D50 and hey, I believe it's a great shot, but I also believe it isn't the best.

Well done to those who got through, I look forward to seeing who manages to win

GlasgowGecko: IF you breed two animals and the resulting offspring exhibit reduced fitness, you MUST purge the system (this does not mean termination, but they should NEVER be bred). This is the only way to get passed it.

Is it really so hard to do some reading, use some common sense and ask a few questions BEFORE you buy the animal?

I voted for chameleonkeeper as his pic made me laugh.

Tippytoes' pic was also very clever and comical.
