Wow...this is an old thread. My Cherry Head only eats the food I give him, except if I put pansies in there. He will eat them right down to the ground. Since my last thread he has grown considerably, but is still on the same feeding plan, except that he eats lots of worms and bugs he finds outside, and when inside I also give him protein once every two weeks. I've never seen him bother with the plants in there.
He has been outside all summer, and has never bothered with those plants in his outside enclosure either.
