What kind of noise was your turtle making and how did ya find out it was phnemonia? My turtle squeeks sometimes but he swims like a madman basks eats but doesnt have bubily nose or open mouth to breath which were symptoms I was told to look for.

He sounded like a seal. He was eating fine, basking as normal, and trying to mate with my female Map. He didn't have his mouth open or a running nose either. If he wasn't making these noises I wouldn't have know there was something wrong with him. He is occasionally still making these noises so I have no idea if the vet was just assuming it was pneumonia as i couldn't afford to get tests done. They did do an xray and said there was something there though which they said to be slight pneumonia.Anyways, I am still moving over to USA at the end of January and need these wee guys to go to a good home.AnythingWithAShell, are you still interested??

Against my better judgement, I suppose, but if you are really stuck with these turtles, alanabain, I will try and accomodate them. Have been reading up on less hardy maps - they start looking to hibernate at 7-10C. I am keeping pond at no lower than 11C this winter. I could keep new turts in a spare heated tank I have in garage and can introduce them to pond in about April and see how they do over the summer.

If the Arbroath girl is not interested anymore feel free to come and look over what I have for a set up here.

See my previous bit of story here. http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/shell...g-outside.html

I am still interested, but will have to wait and see what the finances are like. As always! I'll know by the end of this month though, so plenty time before you go.

But that's good that trupp can take them too, so you'll be able to find a good home for them for sure

Dawn, thanks for getting back to me. I have also had someone else who is interested but I told him that you were first to show an interest and I would let him know one way or another by the end of this month. I really hope you can take them. I am going to be devastated having to let them go, but as long as they go to a good home then I'm sure I will feel a lot better.
