Turtles free to a good home at beginning of next year (date tbc)

I have thought about it over and over again, but in January I am moving to the States, and I will not be able to take my 3 turtles with me . I have asked my Mum to keep them but she thinks they are too hard work to look after and wouldn't be comfortable keeping them.

As you can probably see from below I have a male YBS, a female Mississippi Map and a male False Map. They get on really well together in the same tank, both the Mississippi and YBS have been together since they were babies and the Map joined the group at the beginning on this year. I have pictures of them all in the photo section. My YBS is just getting over having a touch on pneumonia (Not sure how he managed to catch this and if it hadn't been for him making a noise now and then I would have never known this as he is still lively, eating and fanning away as usual!)

I am not 100% of the exact date I will be going so this ad was just to see how much interest there would be in someone taken them off me. Obviously I would only be happy with them going to someone who is experienced with turtles. They are free to a good home and I have plently of food, etc to go with them.

If anyone is interested, they will be available at the beginning of next year sometime. I do not want to give them up just now though as I want to keep them as long as I can

Aww, you poor thing. I would be happy to help, but would have to see if I can afford to get a big enough tank and stuff for them by that time. I have spare tanks, but they'd be too small for them.

I'm in Arbroath, so not too far away.

Thanks for your reply Dawn. You can let me know nearer to the time if you can manage another 3 children Arbroath is only an hour or so up the road so travelling won't be a problem.

I also should have mentioned that I have a 4ft tank, small clamp lamp, Zoo Med light stand with large clamp lamp and combined bulb, external filter, spare heaters, and lots of foods, etc that can be taken as well for a small price if required.

Ooh, do let me know how much you'd be wanting for that. That could solve my problem

I'm not sure, I wouldn't be looking for too much. This is what I would be selling:

-4ft tank
-Table for tank
-Eheim 2215 filter + spare parts
-A bag of Alfagrog
-2 heaters
-1 small filter
-Lots of tubs of dried turtle food
-Lamp stand
-Exo terra lamp
-Combined UV and heat bulb
-Small clamp lamp
-Turtle hut and floating islands

I think that is everything!

Well, if I can afford it, I could definitely have them. If you were happy for me to have them of course. The good thing is I have a December birthday, so any gift money I may get for birthday and xmas could be used for this. There are some good things about having a birthday at xmas time!

Just let me know when you decide on a price, and I can get to work on it.

I think I would be looking for about £100 for the lot. Not sure if this is too much or too little - I have no idea

Gutted. Saw you were from embra and got my hopes up. Can't take aquatic turtles though, good luck in the US!
