Maybe we can help, we are in the process of looking for a mate for our lonely hermans tortoise, he is a rescue and around 5 years old, needed and still needs a lot of tlc to get him into optimum condition. he was kept with other tortoises but from what we can ascertain they escaped whilst in the garden, he spends his days wandering around our very large lounge (too cold out) staring at his reflection in the glass side board, hence why we think he may be lonely.

I've decided to hang on to this pair for the winter and see how things go in the spring. I feel that i've done so much for these two so far to let them go now will be a shame.
