i dont have any papers no, ive only had him a year, i believe the lady before had him for about 4 years but gave me no paperwork when i bought him off her

Hi, I was worried about papers for mine so I contacted DEFRA. Here's the reply......

Carettochelys insculpta is listed on CITES as Annex B / App. II,
therefore you do not require Article 10s to use this specimen
commercially within the EU. You can buy and sell and breed from to sell
the offspring within the EU without obtaining paperwork from us.

If you want to export the species out of the EU, e.g. to the USA etc
then you would be required to obtain a CITES export permit to do so. The
same applies if you were wishing to import specimens from outside the EU
for your own use then you would be required to obtain an export permit
from the country of export and then a import permit from us.

Only Annex A species at the present time require Article 10s to be used
commercially within the EU.

thanks alot

i thought i was ok to have him with no papers as his been in country for a long while, i was sure when i worked at cold blooded they said it was ok for the ones already in country to have no papers but couldnt get any brought in the country from then on.
