Thought you might find these pens interesting. These are the pens that the late Jill Martin and myself designed and constructed. At one point we had over 400 tortoises of many different species (all separate, of course). This is just a few of the various habitats we had. Since Jill's passing, I no longer maintain large numbers of animals, preferring instead to concentrate on a few selected species and other research projects.

Many of these pens were planted with Lin King's excellent "T-Lady" seed mix, by the way. A lot of attention was paid to getting substrates right, and to ensuring adequate temperatures for breeding. We were also able to induce 'natural' estivation cycles in the arid polytunnel. This was excellent for breeding T. horsfieldii and T. whitei, as well as Libyan T. cyranaica. Thanks so much Andy these are great.
I have not yet been to sleep since yesturday morning as ideas are going through my head and trying to iron out possible problems I am facing. Such as flooding in the lower part of the garden. Once I have finished I am sure it won't be perfect, as nothing more than their normal habitat will be that I just want to do what I can. I am rambling now sorry. Lack of sleep I guess.Quote:

redone my young adult enclosure
It is usually covered to stop the cats and rats getting in, can make out the chicken area at the back behind the greenhouse This is a picture from the end showing the Shed, Chicken run for chicks/young chickens, 2 baby tortoise outdoor enclosures and the young adult enclosure Gonna redo the juveniles enclosure this weekend (depending on weather) and will add pics when done

Built it myself, wasn't tricky, did each one in a weekend, the chicken run took me a little longer though
