Default Freezeing weeds

I thought i remembered from ages ago that in the tort trust maual it said it was a good idea to freeze aload of weeds in the summer for the winter. Will they keep all the nutrients and still be as good if i do this? I've lost my book though so if anyone could confirm it said it as well please.

i have tried quite a few different methods of freezing and most of them have resulted in a slimy mush when defrosted. not very appetising at all!

if any body has hadany success i would love tohear about it!

  1. freezing them in a bag
  2. freezing them in a box layered with kitchen roll
  3. freezing them in water
  4. blanching themin freezing water then freezing.
no matter what i did, still went mushy! but if anybody HAS managed it i would love to know more.

Might be wrong but i think that freezing them means that the thyamine in them is depleted. Used to freeze stuff but not anymore. And yes it was pretty much always mushy!

it seems more common to dry weeds but that can be dangerous. clover is toxic when dried, so unless you can find a botanist approved list of suitable plants be very carefull!
