Default gut impaction, not for the faint hearted

hey guys, just been having a nosey on the lizard section and freekygeeky has posted a link about a small uro lizard that has died of gut impaction after being kept on bark, even though the owner didnt use bark for 7 months. the necropsy pictures are very graphic and NOT for the squeamish. And i know that a lizard isnt a tortoise but as substrate is a regularly debated subject, i thought it valid regardless of the species difference. make sure you read the full details so as to get a proper understanding about the size of the animal, in comparrison to the impaction. an awfull lot of us have tortoises that are a similar weight.
For those of you who use bark substrate ( necropsy photos) - Gecko Resource Forums
