I have torts, snakes and geckos and of the three the torts are by far the most entertaining, endearing and active.

I guess if you've never kept one they may seem boring but they have enormous personality.

My torts get up from hibernation this weekend and I am trying to will the weeds to grow faster so that they are established in time!

your getting a tad cofused matey

the 'turtle' you mention are aquatic, therefore need tanks whilst young and basking areas etc

whereas tortoises are not aquatic at all, infact will drown in water too deep, tables or similar open top enclosures are needed to house torts but they also require outdoor exercise in summer months

Hi ben
quick question, is your bedding just top soil, or is it a mix of top soil/ sand? just curious as I'm also thinking about growing plants in my tortoise table (i have a top soil/ sand mix of 50/50ish).

I use soil and sand but only about 30% sand otherwise I personally find it dries out too quickly
