i have a mercury vapour light on a clamp lamp how high should i have it, mine is about 9 inches above the base with a temp of 87 is that ok.i have greek spur thigh

Nice enclosure but pleeeeease take out the Sawdust/shavings, it is not good for Tortoises at all

That's a really small enclosure for those two Horsfields - they should be in a table much much larger.

Also you would practically double the output of that UV strip if it had a reflector on it.

thanks for the advice! i didnt know the shavings were bad. ill take em out asap.
yes, the enclosure is quite small, but im moving soon to a bigger place so i will be able to fit an enclosure much bigger.
about the UV lamp, i have a sort of lid with aluminium on the inner walls that covers the lamp so the torts get more light from it, its directed at them.
