Default Calcium on seeds growing in enclosure

Right, I have put a seed tray with mixed weeds into Nannas cage. She went mad as soon as I put them in and munched through a variety of weeds. Once she was finished she decided to retire for the day in the seed tray. (At about 2.15pm lol)

It is now obvious to me that she is far, far happier eating from the seed tray rather than picked weeds on the slate.

2 questions......................................... ....................................
How do I make sure she gets her limestone flour and vitamins if she is eating directly from the tray and also what about her beak, because if she is eating growing weeds and not from her slate then her beak isn't going to wear down is it?

It seems very unlikely that she will eat from her slate if she has the option of fresh growing weeds.

Mmm, so now what?

Add a good sized handful of limestone flour to the growing medium Top dress the container you are using now for the seeds with limestone and water in.

Ooo, good idea-thank you. What about vits? Would that work the same or should I spray the weeds and throw vitamin powder over them? Mmm, might stop them photosynthesising (sp) if they are covered in powder!!!

Well- I'm thinking that I am not going to limit food for a couple of weeks and see how her weight goes. I'll re-think if she puts on a lot.
