There is a scientific reason for it, I don't understand it myself but will have a root round and post it- I have it somewhere around here!
I also use Vionate for adults, and Nutrobal for younger tortoises, the vitamin and mineral balance is in favour of adults in vionate.

I read it on a post on here, there wasn't a reason given just that they shouldn't be given at the same time! I would appreciate any info you can find Josh! Thanks.

I mentioned not to mix the two on a different thread, I got the info from a post I read on here ages ago, it was mentioned in that post that the TT didn't recommend it either, I have done a quick search and can't find anything on the TT site about it so the info might be outdated.

The info I have been given, and read, did suggest it may cause problems, I can't remember what exactly

However, if more experienced keepers like Sarah use a mixture and have seen no negative side effects I would guess mixing them is ok.

Hopefully Josh can dig up the info he has and shed some more light on the subject.

I lightly sprinkle with both every day for my hatchlings when they're inside... I also add limestone to the soil of any plants I grow for them.

I think it used to be recommended limestone every day and nutrobal two or three times a week but that advice changed a while ago.
