Default Breeding tortoises!!!

Hiya,
I was just wondering out of general interest, if you were ever to breed horsefield tortoises, does the male and the female have to be the same age???

I don't think age comes into it apart from both animals obviously have to be of breeding age, and of a similar size for safety reasons ie if you have an adult male who's fully grown then he could damage a smaller female who although maybe old enough to breed isn't fully grown. (if that makes sense) once both are fully grown you could have for example a 60yr male and 12yr female.

Default Breeding Tortoises

You will have most success with the most compatable pair, trio.

Size is important, but torts can be different sizes at the same age. Go for same size whilst considering the breeding age of each

intresting subject,
It is thought that Horsfields reach maturity between 7 and 10 years old.
