The height of the lamp depends on the wattage and temperature, "combined" bulbs (MVBs) can't be dimmed so you have to adjust the height until the temperature is correct, for a 100W that is typically around 14-15", a 160W will be more.
An ordinary striplight will be fine for the rest of the tank, try to get a daylight colour one around 6500 Kelvin, as turts respond best to a natural daylight spectrum.
