Default height of basking lamp etc

Hi i am setting up a turtle tank and want to get it all right befor i buy one. can anyone tell me the correct height i will need to have the basking lamp from the dry dock area. I will hopefully be getting a uv and heat combi bulb. will an ordinary strip light be ok to just give light to the rest of the tank. can any body send me some good pictures of their setup please. thank you Julie.

The height of the lamp depends on the wattage and temperature, "combined" bulbs (MVBs) can't be dimmed so you have to adjust the height until the temperature is correct, for a 100W that is typically around 14-15", a 160W will be more.
An ordinary striplight will be fine for the rest of the tank, try to get a daylight colour one around 6500 Kelvin, as turts respond best to a natural daylight spectrum.
