enclosure clean out?

hi, i was just wondering as to how often you should clean out the tortois enclosure and if you need to replace all the substrate or just the top layer

i have soil mixed with sand on one half and on the other there is a layer of sand covered by vermiculite.

if they poo i clean it up straight away and i never see them wee in there enclosure unless its on there rock...they normally do this is the bath or on my carpet

I have top soil one side and aspen the other, i spot clean daily and total clean and replace once a month.

How do you find the best way to clean out is? Like getting out all the bedding in the cleanest and fastest way?

I pop Henry in a warm bath with a heat lamp on him. Take all the bedding out then shovel out the soil. Hoover all the bits up then wipe with a drop of dettol and water then fill it back up. I do have soil under the Aspen aswell.
