Default silk plants

Ive just got a new tortoise and was just wondering if i could put silk plants in the setup just to make it look nicer or will it confuse the tort and also can cuttle fish bone be put in to wear down nails .. i think i read it somewhere but i cant find it now but wanted make sure 1st

Cuttlefish is for them to gain extra calcium and wear down their beaks.

Did you buy the set up with the tort? If so you need to upgrade that in size straight away as it's nowhere near big enough to get a good temp gradient.

what are the temp gradients its 30 at the basking side and 26 at the cooler side right now

You need to get a basking temp of 30 - 32 degs C and a cool end temp of 20 - 22 degs C. Turn off your lamps overnight so you get a nighttime drop.

I'm not having a go hon but I've seen a pic of the set up and it's really not big enough for the little hermann.

Take a look on this website...

yeah thanks and i know its not big enough .. ill be getting a new one soon anyway its just temp untill i move into my new room then i will get a bigger one
