Help my Hermann has stopped eating

Hiya,

Can anybody help please?

I have a Hermann, Bubbles , 18 months old and was doing fine up to about 2 weeks ago when she just suddenly stopped eating all fruit, veg and greens. She had the occasional mouthful of tortoise food and was still lively but then as expected stopped pooing and slowed down.

I have been to the vets who has put her on a glucose tube feed for the last two days but he doesn't seem to know how to get her back eating greens again. I am worried about how long I will be taking her back and forth to the vets to be tube fed.

I would appreciate any comments that might help please

Has your vet done any tests to see why the tortoise has stopped eating? If not, then I would change your vet. I am wondering why he is force feeding if he has not tried to first find out why

No I don't believe he has done any tests he just decided she needed some glucose to get her going . . .its a bit worrying.

do you bath her at all i had exactly the same problem with mine and of rfuk i was told to bath her daily it may have been nothing but that night she was eating
