Hi there people .I have just got myself 2 snake neck turtles of a mate. They are in a 3ft tank is that ok ? The tank has a hood on with a light in, no heat lamp , i am new to it all any info please .

Well done - these are nice turtles. Tank size depends on species and their size really. It might be an idea to post some pics for ID purposes - although they are most likely to be Macrochelodina rugosa. Also, most fish tanks are not really wide enough. I would imagine that a 3' x 2' x 2' tank would be acceptable, although a 4 x 2 x 2 would be better. If Geomyda sees this I'm sure he will offer some good advice, although there is a care sheet on the Terrapin Tank website. Cheers, Mark. |
