I assume that they will be Macrochelodina rugosa- Formally known as the New Guinea Snake Neck Turtle (Chelodina siebenrockii)? These are a tropical species from Irian jaya, part of PNG.
There is an exellent website Chelodina.com, which gives very good advice on this species. Also on another Forum, Terrapin tank.com there is a specific "caresheet" on this species in captivity here in the UK.

Hi,

Well done - these are nice turtles. Tank size depends on species and their size really. It might be an idea to post some pics for ID purposes - although they are most likely to be Macrochelodina rugosa. Also, most fish tanks are not really wide enough. I would imagine that a 3' x 2' x 2' tank would be acceptable, although a 4 x 2 x 2 would be better. If Geomyda sees this I'm sure he will offer some good advice, although there is a care sheet on the Terrapin Tank website.

Cheers,
Mark.
