Default Happy Tortoise

Oh to be a tortoise! What more could a tortoise want? A big pile of weeds and some sunshine

Wurtle enjoying some sunshine and his breakfast! :

Bless him - it was all a bit too much for him - he's knackered now and having a snooze - didn't even manage to complete the crossword

NB - he's on newspaper at the moment as I'm still keeping an eye on his shell rot lesion on the plastron so trying to keep it as clean as possible until the vet gives me the 100% all clear

Lovely pics and Wurtle is definitely a very handsome tort... hope he managed to finish off the crossword after his snooze.

Thanks - yeah he got stuck on 5 down but we figured it out in the end

The vet thinks the shell rot is under control. There's no sign of continued infection at the moment but I've just got to keep a close eye on it for the next month or so. There is a little bit of damage to the plastron above the original lesion which we think is just general wear and tear but if it starts to flake then I'll whip him back to the vet again to check. So fingers crossed it's ok After a couple of months, once the vet is happy there's definitely no residual infection, then we'll patch that little spot up with technivit (?) - that sealant they use for horses hooves (I think!) just to stop it getting either more damaged or infected again.
