Aggregate for tank?

Hi im thinking of getting some aggregate for my turtle tank, as my plants need holding down. i know you shouldnt put sand or fish tank gravel in as they can eat it and become impacted. however i did see some tumbled glass at the DIY shop. Its smooth and plenty big enough for the turtles not to eat, and looks cool too. if i steralized it before i put it into the tank, would this be ok or not?

That would be fine, just watch for sediment getting trapped between the pieces and syphon it out regularly.

thanks. i already have a gravel siphon from my old fish tank so i will be doing it regular
