ok i have a greek spur thigh (grecea grecea)sp i was given him 2 years ago but the person i got him from never gave me paper work.

wat does this mean for me is it a problem.....

oh good that very good someone i no was tryin to tell me its illegal to have um if u dont have the papework i paniced abit.
na not plannin on selling or breeding

r they ok singaly i should i get him a friend...... if i get a lady and they do breed can i just disspose off the eggs... or is that cruel...

No its not cruel to dispose of the eggs, but torts can live happily on their own, iv one female who's been alone for most of her life and she seems content enough, besides having a 1.1 ratio would be to much for the female, its always best to have more than 1 female if a male is present, im sure he will be dandy living on his own

if you want to get paperwork for your tort providing you know its history that wouldn't be a problem even if you don't then explain what happened to Defra and they should be helpfull, without paperwork you can't sell any offspring or even sell your tort (should the need ever arise change of circumstances etc) you'd have to give it away.

Its illegal to sell any testudo that is on the cities lists without paperwork.
But you can give them away without paperwork.
But you need paperwork if ever you want to sell the tortoise, or breed from them.
DEFRA are toughening up on this, so if you want to make him/her leagal you have to phone DEFRA and sort it out. The sooner the better, as who knows how tough DEFRA will be in a few years time.

kool thanx for all the advice guys.
im not sure bout getting paper work i dont no his history i used to board him while his owner wrked away then one day he said to me hes going away for a long time do i want him because the owner just wanted him to go to a good home.

You could gift the tortoises but then the owner of the gifted tortoises would have the same problem... they wouldn't be able to sell them at any point or sell any offspring.
