Female Hermann tortoise wanted!

hi all, i have two hermann tortoises 1 female age 3 and 1 male aged 8 i am looking for a older female to mate with my male. my female has many years to go untill she is able to lay eggs. i am doing a tortoise trust course on shelled turtles and tortoises. if anyone could post back id be very gratefull thanks jack

You may be best joining a few rehoming groups Jack, as female adult tortoises are about as common as rocking horse poo unless you want to pay a lot of money for one. Be aware too, that you will have to quarantine for at least a year, preferably more so it would be as well to look for more than one at the same time, to avoid the constant harrassment from your male.

I am also after a female tort or two but as wizzasmum said they can cost a fortune, my 04 female cost me quite a few pennies so i reckon a 8+ year old female will empty your wallet

There are a lot come up for rehoming here and there...I had 7 offered in 2008...

When you say an older female, what age do you mean? I have a female hermanns and she is 101 years old, not sure if she would be interested

nobody else did on my thread! OMG did I leg it quick smart to Lidl to buy the coldframe, I gave her a bath today and she was going around the garden like the clappers

LOL- I bet she is enjoying her warm baths Mine are always so active after a bath because it warms them up. She is spoilt rotten like she should be
