cold frame sub?
Im making a new thread with a poll. So what do you guys use as a base for your cold frame?

I have put other because I have tried to make an arid area. I have used top soil mixed with play sand and then I have added Opuntia Ficus Indica and Agave Murphy. They seem to be doing ok.

I have also put other as mine were first mounted on paving slabs with soil inside but are now just straight on the grass, well the frame is mounted on wood first.

i'm just making a coldframe/house for billy, one end is for his bed and covered. the other end will have a spotlight for basking the roof is perspex over the light to his bed... (about 80cm long)
in his bed end i will put soil etc down and will have this out into the coldframe part but under the light i might leave it as paving slabs (thats what the whole thing is sitting on)

HMMMM im thinking maby half on topsoil half slate, or maby slate at the bottom and then a thin layer of topsoil over it

My cold frame is a propagator, which has soil in it and then a big piece of slate for the torts to sit on
