[Turtle Rescue]

well this is more of a rant than any thing else,i run a full time rescue and of late ive seen and heard of to meny so called rescue centers.i see alot of places claiming to be back by differnt so called organisations,when in fact its complete bull.i myself know this as ive been doin this for a long time and have talked at lenth with alot of national rescue centers that are well known.in more cases than i like the so called rescue places are nothing more than people after a certain pet or to resell them for profit.i collect every one when its possible from every part of the uk no matter how far,i also get alot of the major jobs like helping when councils have lakes and water gardens revamped.i know this post may be deleted or moaned at,well thats fine but please when any one calls up for help with a rescue make sure that they are a real rescue center and not one of these people after free pets or profit.sorry again for the rant but it may make some people think,ill not be useing the forums any more as im inundated at the moment and im sick of some of the sad e mails and pm's ive had from some of the people on here.

We live in Glasgow and help out with an animal rescue centre.... the people who run it are amazing.... they travel all over the Uk to pick up animals and also take in sick anials temporarily to medically care for them with no charge to their owners.

I know you have the animals bestinterest at heart and you were always helpful to me in Pm's about the turtles we saved a few weeks ago.

i took your advice and we managed to find someone who donated an outdoor pond. The manager of the animal rescue will now be building an outdoor area for our turtles and terrapins so they can have a better quality of life.

I agree it is hard seeing all the loonies out there advertising they take in animals and know bugger all about them. One site states quite openly that they rescue tortoises and will be keeping the suitbale ones for themselves and rehoming thoe ones they do not want! Unbelievable! I myself am heavily involved with animal rescue, travelling all over the country to help people out, but cannot register as such as it means making my address public which would mean lots more security and making sure there was someone here at all times.

i dont know if thats a go at me or not be seems to be might be me just been over senstive, but i am deffientley are a Terrapin rescue if i wasnt i wouldnt have a council sending me upto 500 terrapins in the next few weeks! as there dredge lakes and ponds to catch them, and if anyone wants to check me out please feel free to ring me on the telephone number on my website and arrange a visit i have nothing to hide. i do work but i have to provide everything for the terrapins i wish i had the money to not work and provide my life 100% to terrapins but i dont have. so working is a must

i'm in talks with Squirts O/H to have a proper website built and i am also now setting up enough 30 tanks (4ft x 4ft ) to make sure i have enough to house all the terrapins what is costing me a fortune

1st claire this is a go at the fools that claim to be rescue centers! not once did i meantion you any where,
2 nd if you are goin to try and make this about you thats up to you but please get all your facts right and then try to keep your post to the point instead of makein it all about your self as you seem to do alot.this is the last time i will reply so if as you put it you have a question for me e mail me as of now i dont have the burning question you say you have for me.o and just one thing how on earth does your council evern guess they have 500 terrapins liveing wild as thats gonna be the biggest colony in the uk?i know as i have previously stated i do alot of these kind of jobs,and if they are dreggin for them then most will die as the only way is to empty the water way?sorry but when facts like those are thrown into a post like this it just seems only right to coment.i await your e mail with your burning question for me.

well i was not goin to post any more on here but after claires e mail i will,as stated before i had a few sad crappyy e mails and pm,s well these were all to do with bosshog and her sad emagineation as she sates in her new e mail " that did seem to be aimed at me! as i have it from a few sources you have a problem with me, and not of RFUK and dont ask for names as i wont give them" well im now callin you a lier on here so if you have all these e mails from soooo meny people then lets have some proff? but that will not happern will it.

also as of late as pointed out on this site by its members you do seem to have a bee in your bonnet and keep makein statements that go back onyour self such as this one in your e mail "as for the terrapins its not my local council its from a differnt county, thre are draining all the lakes in the county and aslo setting traps as at the moment there are having a real problem with the warm weather making the terrapins active early in the year. there have contacted me saying that i was the only one there could find"

as Turtle Rescue has decied to make this public so will i, anyone that wants to check if i am legit please ring me or email me (numbers are on website) and arrange a vivst your alwasy welcome. and i can provide as many photos as you want.

and if anyone would like to get speak to someone basically a refernce please contact reptile recue hull there wil be more than happy.

as for the council i am working with we will be driving out there every monday (my only day off) to collect what there find i have the vets number who contacted me as there were contacted by the council to get a quote how much it would cost to put all terrapins to sleep there find, luckily for the terrapins there got in contact with me, if anyone wishes to know what council there can PM me

i dont wish to to satrt a fight thats why i kept it to emails but i have a right to stand up for myself, i wont post on here anymore.

as i said before visitors are alwasy welcome i have nothing to hide and i have no grieveance with anyone
