Default very sick tortoise?

A friend just called me in tears about her tortoise - I've told her to get it to a vet asap but i was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more about what could have happened?

she has just come out of hibernation but she hadnt been eating for about a week - today and shes not moving, her scales have turned a pink red colour as has the outside of her shell and her legs are limp?

Default Very Sick tortoise

I would get her to a very good reptile vet asap.

Keep her hydrated with lots of warm baths. Make sure that she can bask under a good light

When you say pink??? that could be a symptom of septicaemia.

If there is pink showing through the shell then it needs a vet quickly. Has it eaten at all since hibernation? The general advice would be to keep it warm and hydrated. Could be very serious though.

ETA - Has your friend got a good specialist vet? If not then maybe post location and see if someone can recommend.
