inherited tort with no papers
just seen the new post about a herman with no papaers just thought about it and ive got a testudo graeca with no papers he is about 35 so wot do i do lol

Give DEFRA a call and speak to them about it. They were great when we inherited our barn owl with no papers. Sent them the ring number, all sorted out.

Do you have to have papers with tortoises or is it only if you sell them or fine new homes?

the papers are needed if you are breeding or selling on and i was led to believe that if you were taking your tort out on a journey as in to the vet etc you had to carry their papers?? not sure but i know if you don`t have papers then you cannot sell the tort on you have to give it as a gift,or to a rescue.i may be wrong but thats what i have been told!!

i had the same problem i phoned defra they said they wont give me papers unless i wanna sell or breed him. which i dont so alls good.xx
