I like your honesty! I can't help though as I'm even worse than you, I just get the oh to do it all!

Hey there

Here's my outdoor enclosure (see this thread - http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/shell...pic-heavy.html) , it looks complicated but it doesn't need to be as complicated as this - you could do something suitable with simple planks and netting (depending how big your tortoise is).

r6paul has built a great outdoor enclosure - see http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/shell...ld-begins.html

Hopefully these threads might give you some ideas

In terms of heating we will be using ceramic basking lamps for heat and we're getting a qualified electrician to install the cable and power to the shed. We did consider doing it ourselves and went and bought outdoor grade cable from Wickes and a special circuit breaker etc but because we want to run over 1kw of power out there we decided we would rather an electrician do it and wire it up properly and safely for us.

My oh (not being the world's best DIY man) had a brilliant idea...

Just inside of the bamboo is a ring of concrete that used to be a path, so they cant dig their way out. I have since taking these pictures, done some planting and added some different textures slate and cobbles. It measures 36 sq ft.

Im defo no expert and havent made a 'house' outside yet, but wilkos do a metal fence thingy that comes in 4 pieces for about £2. We bought 4, linked them all together and put some hides, water and a big plastic plant pot with straw and aubiose in on it's side.

Good temporaty measure while you need to plan more

Look through my posts for photos

I've been put in my place by the OH...150 sq ft not 36sq ft. I need to go back to school!
