Default Any idea what these are?

Hello,

Sorry for the pics but there the only ones i have at the moment.

This is Tammy;

And this is Fred;

My Nanna has had these for well over 40 years now and she has no idea what species they are.
We know Tammy is female and Fred is male. The live together outside and have done for over 40 years and still every year Fred tries to mate with her but size wise hes got no chance
All help appreciated, Thank you xx

Tammy is a T.graeca sp (Spur Thighed Tortoise) More photos are needed to ID sub-species.

Fred is T.hermanni boettgeri (Hermanns Tortoise)

Yeah i knew you needed more photos thats why i said sorry before i posted them but i knew someone could give me ideas as to what they could be.
Thank you.
Do they look in good health to you?
I know Tammy has got white marks on her shell but shes damaged that herself over the years which she would have only done in the wild.

And another thing, these have been together in the same enclosure since they were little. My Nan wants me to tortoise sit when shes on holiday, can i put these with my Leopard?
They seem fine in the garden together but not sure about them living together for 2 weeks ....??

What are the marks, how did she get them? Do you know?

Just nosey thats all :p It looks like paint but if you are saying she would have got them in the wild then I doubt it will be paint :p

The marks are where shes rubbed herself on things and it looks like the black coloring has come off her shell.
Its hard to describe, ill see if i can get some better pictures of it but shes been to vets with it and he just said shes caused it herself with rubbing and its nothing to worry about because her shell is in good condition.

She obviously had an itch!!!

As for putting the two of them in with your little guy to be honest I wouldn't cos of cross infections and also size difference plus you'd probably scare your little chap half to death I expect. Is it not possible to leave the older two at their own home and check on them daily - was thinking it might be quite stressful to them to move them away from what they've been used to for some many decades

Hope your Nan has a nice holiday though

My little chap is not that little, hes actually bigger that Fred.
My Nan lives miles away, I usually put the torts in the rabbit cage when she was on holiday, none of them seem bothered.
As long as Tam n Fred are together, as much as Fred drives Tammy mad they don't mind where they are.
Think i might have to put a temp divide in the enclosure to separate them.
Some of you may scream when i say this but Tammy and Fred have never been kept in tables or viv and have never had basking lamps or any other things that we all say our torts need so i think it may be best to keep them away from that part of Chips enclosure.

To be honest i never thought about cross infection
