Awww gorgeous pics and aint you pretty! That puppy is absolutely adorable!!!

Please please please be sooooo careful with dogs and tortoises - dogs tend not to see them as food but as toys and will toss them around in the air and play with them. A couple of weeks ago there were unfortunately two young tortoises hurt in dog attacks, one of them resulting in a tortoise having to be put to sleep.

So please I cannot stress to you enough dont let the dogs anywhere near little Speedy will you lovey. I'd hate another tortoise and another member on here to have to go through the awful heartbreak of antehr attack.

I can echo Mrs M's plea, just over a year ago I was living that nightmare. Fortunately Milo's doing great now, but it was the most horrible thing in the world to happen.

Beautiful pic, you're both gorgeous!!!

Great well done sweetheart - Im sorry if I sounded like a right ole fart having a dig at you and thinking you were daft BUT I'd rather say it than not and then something awful happened to your little guy.

As for your old dog Mol, please dont trust her, neither of my dogs have ever taken any notice of the tortoises but they are animals and they still have instincts and I'd not ever give them the chance even after years of ignoring my little guys.

I want one!!!!!!!

He is adorable, but I'd be particularly cautious of him around a tort, because of a Labradors playfulness (and the fact they are retrieving dogs) they are very likely to just want to 'play' with your tortoise, or see him as a big calcium-filled bone. It's all to often that we hear of dogs that "wouldn't do it" (Or don't hear of it when it is brushed under the carpet) and I'd hate to see it happen to your tort.

I know others have already said it but felt I had to say something as I always do with dogs and torts Sorry if I seem a nagger!!!

Just wanted to say that the puppy is absolutely beautiful, I used to have a black lab years ago and they are such gorgeous creatures, am sooooo jealous, just watch out for their big clumsy clambouring paws, cause untold amounts of accidents and broken vases etc , soppy old things.

Give the puppy a head scratch from me next time you see him
