Default basking

when i went and got my turtles they didnt have a basking light, but now they do in there new home and bask lots! Is this because they didnt have a light in there old home and are making up for 'lost time'?

Basking, in all reptiles is a means of thermoregulation. It is normal and totally necessary. Hopefully, by reading good husbandry practise for your new Turtles, you will get to understand the correct requirements, and can get all the the right conditions for these highly attractive Map Turtles.
