its still a shop and you'd be much better buying private or at least check where the torts come from and you'd have to ask to see a certificate in order to do so. Nearly all the posts on the forums with torts having health problems are those that come from shops you only have to look to see thats true, so for the sake of a bit of driving and research finding one its a far safer way of getting your tort.

Thanks, unfortunately I don't drive. I have been looking for a tortoise for over a month now, I have tried contacting a few people in the midlands as I should be able to ask a friend to give me a lift to pick one up. I will ask where the tortoise comes from and if it has certificates. My parents live i North Wales so I was hoping they might be able to pick it up for me.

I would not touch them with a ten foot barge pole. ALL their torts are imported and depending on who you speak to when you ring you will get different stories as to their origin. There have been several bad reports on the shop (some on here) - my advice would be to avoid like the plague. Many good breeders will deliver for many miles to see their torts go to good homes.

I have looked on here at the breeders lists and the links posted on here.

Thanks SuBo, I just wanted people's opinions on the place but if it is rubbish I will continue my search.

It's an unfortunate choice of names they have there as the Living Rainforest in Berkshire is great.

I don't know personally about their hermanns but I've bought several things from them before and steve is a really nice bloke, always willing to help you out with anything you need to know. But to the O/P I've sent you a PM.
