Default indoor torty table

as we aren't hibernating our torties this year, i'm going to have to build my 6yr old a bigger table, just going to run this idea by you all... the space i have i'll be able to fit a 7ft x 3ft table.... but only if i put the babies table on top of the big table (babies table is 3ft x 2ft) so it would be kind of like a 2 storey table but they won't be connected by a ramp. would this be ok for her?

I wouldn't think there'll be a problem as long as the table underneath isn't blocked in to much thus making it to hot, heat rises and has to escape, you might also need extra light in case the top one blocks out any natural light.

Only problem I could see would be the airflow and the light as well. Sounds like you're gonna be in for an interesting build - dont forget the pics for us though!

only had her a couple of months so i'm not 100% happy to hibernate her
the big torty table would have a 5ft open top, the babies table would only cover 2ft of the length of it, they would both be 3ft wide so the baby table would fit at one end

I would make sure the babies are at the coolest end of the biggies enclosure, so they dont get too hot. Dehydration is quick in small torts.
Why arent you hibernating the small torts?

I'd agree with putting the baby table at the cool end of the big table.

Then, maybe you could use this as the big torty hide end, with the underside of the baby table as the roof of a spacious hide for the big torty? Just a thought...

Please please don't forget to keep us updated with pics! I love seeing peoples' builds cos I'm mega nosy

i was going to put the babies down the cool end!! i'd have a panic attack if i thought they were over heating (my imagination would run a muck!!!) as for not hibernating the babies i'm 100% confident in myself to do it, plus my OH doesn't like the idea so i'll need a year to pursuade him other wise, i will hibernate eventually when i'm confident and my OH is more comfortable with it
