Default Certificate Query

Hi guys,

I bought my baby Hermann's nearly two months ago, and I was wondering what I should do about the CITES certificate.

It say's the name of the pet shop in the top left corner. Sounds like a silly question but do I need to change it, and how do I do it?

You don't need to change it, but you can if you want. Might be as well waiting until they're bigger, then if you are planning to get them chipped, get a new cert then

It will cost £25 to change, most keepers just keep the cert as it is, until they start to breed from them. If they dont breed from them, they just keep the cert as it is.

to get the cert changed into your name the tort will need to be microchipped, this is best done when the tort is big enough, the chip is the size of a grain of rice the same as is used for dogs so you need a nice fat back leg. As long as you have the orriginal cert you don't need to have it updated, its your choice, chipping can help if your tort ever goes missing etc but unless you wish to breed its up to you, just keep the cert you have somewhere safe.

Thanks Guys... I'd quite like a certificate in my name, but I suppose if it's not necessary it's no biggie. I need the £25 more at the mo rather than an updated peice of paper anyway

whether you want a cert or not the fact is that not many vets will chip a tort untill its a lot bigger than the size defra suggest and you can't get a cert without a copy of the chip papers being sent to defra.
