Default Can my herman eat this?

Hi

I have attached two pictures, someone told me this weed is called 'Chickweed' and this can't be given to my herman tortoises.

can someone please confirm that this is chickweed and it can't be given to my tortoise as I purchased a lot of weeds from thetortoiselady back in the summer and grew these, i would have expected everything that grew in the weeds could be fed to my torts - there were other weeds such as sow thistle and dandelions which i know can be givem.

Please help me as my garden is full of chickweed and it would make me less stressed during the winter as I dont want to give them supermarket food.

thanks

Yep, chickweed is fine. I've fed it loads to my two. I've seen loads of folk saying it's fine too, so i think you're okay.

Was this Lin Kings seed mix, or the other ladys mix please?
As if it was the one from Herbiseed, then Lin only helped compile the list of suitable seed for the mix, and is not responcible if herbiseed decided to add it to the mix

Ah that is not the original tortoise lady with lots of field work experience and has kept tortoises for over thirty years. Lin King is a reputable tortoise keeper, well known in the tortoise world. www.tortoises.net

You got your seeds from a lesser known keeper, for whom I have not heard of

Chickweed is fine. Unless you grow your weeds indoors though, they will all die off over winter.
