Default Feeding

Hi, im finally picking up my 18 month old horsefield on sunday

And i realised im not sure how much food to give is at a time and how often.

What do you suggest for such a young tort?

Enough to cover his shell once a day is a good guide.

another way is to keep an eye on his weight, 2-4 grams gain a month and you can't be far wrong, if you think he's still hungry try splitting his food into a few smaller meals rather than one main one, or putting his food is a few places rather than one, maybe digging up a whole plaintain/dandelion and planting it in his house, it won't live for long but if you water it he'll be able to help himself which keeps him occupied a bit longer.
